The wels catfish is the largest European freshwater fish. It is native to Eastern Europe and western Asia, but now also lives in foreign areas like the Ebro River in Spain. 




Roland Lorkowski (A German Biologist) who’s are claims to introduced the WELS CATFISH illegally to the Ebro River in 70 an. The Ebro River has the highest water flow on the Iberian Peninsula, impact that thing other countries reported adverse ECOLOGICAL IMPACT after the introduction the Wels Catfish.
        The skin on wels catfish lacks scales, contains sensory cells and contributed to respiration through oxygen absorption or carbon dioxide secretion. The wels catfish is well adapted to living in fresh water with low visibility and has small eyes.
        The life span of wels catfish caught is reported to be 22 years in the Volga Delta, the wels catfish is a nest guarding species. Mentions a wels catfish dragging a fisherman near Gyor, Hungary, under water by his right leg after attempted to grab the fish in hold. According to fisherman that catfish must have over 100 kilograms.
        In some countries like France and Spain the wels catfish is a SPORT FISH, the largest wels catfish caught in the Ebro River 2.60 meters and 112kilograms.
